| Who wants a slice of Shabbat Shalom cake? |
|
My son and I baked a chocolate cake for Shabbat dessert. We are going to write "Shabbat Shalom" (in Hebrew) on top with frosting. Yum! http://www.cacaoweb.net/deathbychocolate.html

But I come from a long line of Presbyterians--three generations of Presbyterian ministers in my paternal grandfather's line.
I also attended a Japanese Presbyterian church for a while. Sushi for fellowship hour, mmmm. And I NEVER missed a church potluck.

I'm learning there sewms to be a well-beaten path between Judaism and Presbyterianism. Who knew?
There are a pair of congregations in MD, I think, who share a worship building. The Jewish congregation comes in on Friday nights and has their service. The Presbys come in on Sunday and have their service.
And they have joint educational and social activites too. I think I'd like that place a great deal. :D

| 14. There's a mysterious attraction between Jews and Episcopalians, too |
|
Edited on Fri Mar-04-05 06:52 PM by Ellen Forradalom
My immediate family and I are Episcopalian. Once I had a long talk with a psychologist about this mysterious attraction--he was married to an Episcopalian woman, just like my husband. We speculated it's a Northeastern/New England thing.
