were on the same show. Looking at your list, it's apparent that 60's cartoons were pretty lame. I much prefer 40's & 50's toons. There were some weird, surreal Tom & Jerry's in the 60's, made by Gene Deitch if I remember correctly.

41. I loved Snuffles the dog

I think he appeared in some of the Quick Draw McGraw episodes. When anyone wanted information or a favor from the dog, it would point to its open mouth and go "unh, unh, unh, unh, unh". Then when it was tossed a dog biscuit it would leap into the air, hug itself, and float down in ecstasy, shouting "ummmm, ummmm, ummmm". It was hilarious to me at the time.

I vaguely recall another character named Hoppity Hooper, a frog with some kind of traveling side-show with Professor Waldo and a dumb bear that played a bugle. I think they were kind of con men cartoon characters. I don't remember if it was its own series or if it was part of another show.

I also remember a cartoon character named "Tooter the Turtle" who was always wishing that he was someone else. The King Leonardo Show was the cartoon show in which his segment appeared, I think.

And I recall something called Crusader Rabbit in about 1960, but I think it was a re-run of a very early TV cartoon show from the 1950's. There was almost no animation but just a series of still cartoon images. I think it came right after the Huntley Brinkely news show in the evening.

I always hated him as a child. I'm not sure why, but my reaction was visceral. I hated how violent it was and the fact he never talked. Beyond that, it was irrational.
