Indiana man receives nasty package acknowledging dastardly deed

MARCH 29--Since shooting a neighbor's cat last month, Kenneth Nailleux has been the object of much scorn from fellow Valparaiso, Indiana residents. Nailleux, 65, told cops that he leveled his .22 at the animal because it kept coming onto his property and attacking birds using a feeder. That explanation didn't wash with neighbors, especially when the cat had to be put to sleep as a result of the gunshot wound.

Nailleux has complained to the Porter County Sheriff's Department that he is being harassed over the shooting, pointing to the recent arrival at his home of a gift box containing, as the below police report notes, a "replica of a pile of excrement."

... Pale Male had returned to the ledge with his spouse, and there might be at least one egg in the new nest. The people who were freaked out by his eating habits (splatting rat and pigeon remains from the sky!) have officially been told to "deal". Or something like that.

Anyhow, he seems to be back and in fine form.

20. The first week after I installed my electric fence

I had fried no fewer than 8 starlings in my back yard. It's not like were in a starling shortage, but I still felt bad.

I guess the birds finally figured out not to touch the electric fence and the chain-link fence at the same time, because I haven't seen any cooked birdies in quite a while.

10. There ARE two sides to this story......If cat owners don't keep their cats

indoors after a neighbor complains about them killing birds - then they are at fault also when someone shoots the cat. I would not shoot a cat - in fact I don't have a gun. But if I told someone about their cats killing birds in my yard and they did nothing I might trap the cat and transport it to animal control. And by the way, I have 3 cats and they stay inside. I have it rigged up so they can sit and look out through the basement window and that seems to satisfy their need to know what is going on outside.
