| My newly acquired social life is going to ruin my exercise regimine |
|
My friend (who took me to the Rod Stewart concert last week) pulled into my driveway last night, asked me if I felt like cooking. I told him I was going to make dinner for the boys and that I'd love to have him join us. He said, let the boys fend for themselves, I've got out dinner right here. He had four 3-lb. lobsters and 10 lbs. of steamers.
It took us nearly all evening, but we put a pretty good dent in that mess of food (we ended up cleaning but not eating about 1/2 of the clams, and I didn't eat my second lobster).
And we played cribbage, and laughed and had a great time.
But who the hell could get up an exercise after getting to bed so late?
I couldn't last week after the concert either.
I guess I'll have to try to get a run in when I get home from work.
Jeez... how to people balance their lives out? Job, family, fitness, friends.... there just aren't enough hours in the day.

| 1. Whenever I make good progress in one area of my life... |
|
another area goes to hell.
Making money = lose my friends
getting in shape = house is a dump
clean house = yard is a dump
lots of time with kids = get fat.
Oh, well!!
Sounds like you had a great evening, though!

if you average the number of hours you spend ON your feet being active against the number of hours you spend on your butt over every three days, you can have a social life.
It's okay to "miss" a daily, but just make sure you don't miss many "daily's" in a row. The important thing is that you have a high overall level of activity and do everything else in moderation, including binge lobster eating.

I fit it in between tasks here at my desk.

| 14. Considering that you're a foster parent to a boy that isn't yours |
|
and that you took him in out of the kindness of your heart, I would say that you're an AMAZING parent. :-)

criticize someone's parenting skills when you know nothing about them :eyes:
Sheesh - besides, these are teenagers she's talking about, not toddlers.

And he knows that I do, from time to time, let my 17 year old boys fend for themselves.

| 5. Combine social life and workouts whenever possible. |
|
I go out swing dancing 3 - 4 nights a week. It's great exercise and I've made lots of fun loving friends!

| 13. I find that by combining these demands |
|
I can sometimes kill two birds with one stone.
For example, I duct-tape my laptop to the lawnmower and take care of bidniz while I mow.
Or I boil my unmentionables while I'm making soup.
Also, sex can be a good workout if you do it right.
