9. I know. I had to bathe cats only when I first rescued them

to get rid of fleas and street dirt.

otherwise they seem to do just fine on their own.

3. beautiful cat-- wow, Felix is certainly gentle in the water....

A couple of mine will take a bath like that-- well actually, only one will, and he doesn't like it. The others will do varying amounts of damage to me in response-- there are two that I simply will not bathe under any circumstances. It's just not worth the stress or the blood loss....

Those his expression says otherwise, he actually isn't minding that bath too much at all!

My own don't mind all that much--until I wash around their face. THEN they go ballistic. It's really how much they are used to it--my adopted kits, Amanda and now Oliver, don't seem too keen on the idea. They've just never been exposed to it like my own are. I can't even remove the crud from Amanda's eyes without her resisting me, nevermind if I try to clip her claws!! But yeah--cats are cool if they've gotten used to something!

My old buddy Dax, who was my alpha male, used to terrorize the other cats. When I decided to punish him, I picked him up, turned him stomach up, and made him sit on my lap like that, trimming his claws while he remained relatively quiet. Treating him like a baby I swear made him feel sheepish, because when he'd get off my lap afterward, he would sort of slink away and leave the others alone.
