Each week seems to bring a more outrageous plotline. I didn't think they'd be able to top the shooting down of AF1 and the return of President Palmer, but having Jack singlehandedly take the Chinese suspect from the embassy and force the doctor to treat him (thus causing Paul to die) may have come close. Having Jack die in the 24th hour is about the only way they could top everything else that has happened this year. I do think he will die this year, and that Season 5 will be a prequel to Season 1, focusing on Jack's activities in Eastern Europe.

1. Well, I like having Palmer back.

But the writers of this show seem to want to push the envelope, which is something about this show that I find interesting and for me it adds to the intrigue.

AF1 getting shot down, a former President returning, the hijacking of a Stealth bomber, the theft of the nuclear football, plans to destroy nuclear power plants, and the death of Jack's girlfriend's estranged husband. I might not be remembering the previous seasons that well, but it seems like this year has a lot more over the top action than any prior season.

2. 24 has become so over the top that it's funny

I actually find myself laughing sometimes. Especially when they say something is "15 minutes away" Everything is 15 minutes away in the world of 24. ( It is supposed to be a pretty unusual day!) But it's still entertaining.

when they had Marwan trapped in the desert. How the hell did they allow him to escape then only to have the acting President blow the op by having Jack arrested when they had Habib trapped in the nightclub?!!

This show is SO laughable. I don't know if they write the script around the military's bungling of the attempted capture(s) of Zarqawi, or if it's the other way around. All I know for certain is this show is quite overrated.

One other thing; if our intelligence agencies are half as fucked up as CTU appears to be, is it any wonder why they can't get a damn thing right? Can't these people at CTU stay on task for anything?!! If they aren't concerned about their pay rate, they're off worried about who their ex-wives were boinking, or bringing their crazy daughters to work with them!!

That episode where the bad guys had 2 jeeps in the desert. and the good guys had some vehicles and a HELICOPTER, and one jeep got away.

8. It was the craziest episode thus far

We just all sat there saying "holy fucking shit, how will they possibly top this!?"

I love it. Every moment of it. It's so outrageous. It's almost a farce of conservatism.

...wish that this President would finally admit that he's completely incompetent and call in his predecessor to take over, like on 24?
