1. He just put out a new cd. He's back with Steve Stevens.

He played South by Southwest here in March.

Few musicians can boast the level of success that Billy Idol attained in the 1980s and early 1990s. Unfortunately, the "live hard and die young'' punk rock ethos doesn't come with a middle-age survival guide.

5. I saw him 2 years ago and fell in love with him all over again!

He sounded better than he did in the '80s. Probably because he's sober these days. Anyhow, he was fabulous and I'd highly recommend going to see him if he makes the rounds this summer.

My favorite part was when he sang "Don't You Forget About Me" which was recorded by the Simple Minds. Before he sang it, he said that the song had originally been written for him but that he thought it might soften his image too much (or something to that effect) so he passed on the recording. Needless to say he regretted it after it had so much success. He sounded great singing it and even when I hear the Simple Minds version today I can only hear Billy.

6. Crazy, I was just listening to his Greatest Hits CD in the car today.

I love Billy Idol.

He put out a CD not that long ago, it's pretty good. :)
