There was one, ONE major dressing out there that wasn't made with gunky mayo or whatever, and they had to go and ruin it, too! :grr:

Back to plain old oil-and-vinegar, or vinaigrette if it's around.

18. I like it

I first had it as a child at a local sub place that used it as sandwich sauce. You have to admit that it is better to put Creamy Italian on a sandwich instead of both mayo and vinegar and oil, which I have gotten at Subway to come close to the taste.
For a regular Italian dressing, I buy Wish Bone Italian dressing. That doesn't have any may or mayo like ingredients.

20. If it were up to me, mayo would be classified as WMD

along with mustard. (Which would mean that Iraq would finally have some! "They're just 45 minutes away from being able to make a sandwich..." :-) )

The Wish-Bone workaround is fine for home; the trouble is the zillions of restaurants that have replaced actual Italian dressing with the gunked-up "Creamy" version. Ordering oil and vinegar forces the waitstaff to hunt up cruets of the stuff and lug it out to me in that wire contraption. (sigh)

I eat bleu cheese all alone with my fingers.

With polite company, I choose garlic and herbs.

With impolite company, I choose oil and vinagar and throw the lettuce on the floor while making nasty faces and swearing under my breath.

17. I have a question

Has anyone else ever used "Miracle Whip Salad dressing" as a salad dressing?

29. my mom used to chop up hard boiled eggs and lettuce together

and toss it with Miracle Whip. I love that (although I prefer to make it with mayonnaise if I am doing it myself).

Every once in a while I get a serious craving for it; childhood memories, I imagine.

19. Brianna's Poppy Seed Dressing and Lund's Parmesan Dressing

I'm real fussy about salad dressings and think most of them taste as if they were made either with a kid's chemistry set or with too heavy a hand on the vinegar.

These two are perfect. (Lund's is local to the Twin Cities. I don't remember whether Brianna's is.)

I also make my own dressing by taking a good quality ranch dressing and mixing in just the right amounts of sesame oil and soy suace.

This is part of my weight loss regimen, particularly when dining out. I don't use dressing, so I just ask the waitperson for some lemon slices and freshly ground pepper,or use the pepper shaker. Does the trick for me!

I buy a brand called La Martinique; they make a slam dunk French Vinegarette also.

I like Ranch every now and then, and Italian sometimes.

I like Balsamic vinegarette also.
