So last night, about 9 o'clock, my Shar-pei starts acting funny. He's whining and pawing and jumping up and down. I snapped on his leash and took him for a short walk. Nothing. No pee, no poop, not even a fart. Okay, so we go back in the house and he starts in again. He's whining and he's pawing and he's fidgeting. "Are you still hungry?" I say, giving him a treat. He eats the treat, but that doesn't do it. "Do you need to go out again?" No, he doesn't need to go out again. Finally, I get nose-to-snout with him and I say, "WHAT IS IT DOG? WHAT DO YOU WANT?!?!?"

And he fixes me with his gaze, puts his left paw on my head, pushes me down to the floor and LICKS ME. ALL over. Inside the ears. Up to the hair line. Around the back of the neck. On the eyes, up the nose, all around the mouth. All over. Total Shar-pei tongue bath here.

Then, he went over to his dog bed, turned around three times, gave a satisfied snort, and went to sleep.

My Toro likes to keep me informed about his eating habits. He's not a great eater....lately, he finishes, comes over and starts to make noises. Turns out, that he wants you to follow him back to his food dish, so he can show you that he finished!!! We praise him like crazy--I guess he likes to hear it!!
