LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- The Los Angeles coroner's office has ruled the death of Margaux Hemingway a suicide, a spokesman for the office said Tuesday. She was the fifth person in her family to commit suicide.

The coroner's office concluded that the 41-year-old actress, who was found dead in her Santa Monica apartment July 1, killed herself by taking an overdose of a sedative.
