I don't get it, a few years ago I had no problems whith confidence and women, now, for some reason I can't seem to do it anymore (no not IT). But it's awful, it's like whenever I should get in there I have an automatic wimp reflex that kicks in. I don't even wanna explain what brought this on, I'm gonna go self loathe now....

If the girl you are talking to hasn't walked away she probably doesn't think you are a dork. Most girls won't even talk to you unless they are interested.
Don't think too hard about it.

Was, I saw a girl that is my friend's (rest his soul) Sister at the mall, We talked in the store for a bit and I have always had a thing for her, she's amazing. Anyway, I was super uncomfortable, I even felt myself sweeting. Then I said, "Which way are you going?" She said she was actually going to get something to eat. It was a total invite, but I was too chicken to go for that! What happen to the HEyHEY in Highschool and early 20s that woulda been eating dinner with a hell of a nice girl instead of sittin gon DU bitching about being a wimp??!!!

It's not too late. Just do it.
You both share something that had a profound impact in your lives: the death of her brother and your good buddy. Seeing her again could have brought all those feelings back. Tell her. She'll understand, and feel closer to you. And if not, then maybe you don't want to take her for a whirl on the dance floor anyway.

(snicker)
Women aren't that difficult. I mean, yeah, we're complex beyond all words... but, if you're having a problem talking, be honest about it. We think that stuff is kinda cute. We realize that most men are clueless re. relating to women. And, we like a guy (seriously) who doesn't come across as arrogant, but, instead, shows his "pussy", if you must, side. (just don't use that word... we don't like it! :hi: )
Grab her hand, say "you know, I kinda suck at this, so please help out", and believe me, she'll think that's the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to her!
(unless she's a heartless bitch... but, I'm hoping you don't go for the Coulter-type)

It's a mixture between "grow a pair" and "don't be a dick". Very fine line, but not hard to navigate if you're seriously interested in a woman. Good luck! Remember--every man on this list who is engaged/married/serious has been there. And every woman on this list who is has been with a guy who was that way. It's normal. Breathe, decompress.

I, having been married and decided that is wasn't a great idea, can move in with you and we can share an apartment. You'll mess it up all the time and wear baseball caps and I'll wear a suit and an apron and nag you about what a slob you are. Or, if you prefer, you can wear the apron and I'll wear the baseball cap and drape pizzas everywhere. We'll be polar opposites. it'll be great. And we can have people over to play poker.
It's high-concept, man.....

Yep, I understand those yearnings and all of that. Of course, having Been There And Done That the prospect of a bit of unrestrained freedom is great - scary, but necessary. The good thing about these days is that you don't necessarily have to be married, though, to enjoy a legally-sancytioned long-term relationship. Whether marriage or not, I hope that you and the perfect woman for you cross paths and draw them parallel to each other - the flipside of freedom is loneliness, and too much of that has a way of getting us down, at least at certain times.
I'm still somehow convinced that there's someone out there - at least one person - who is just right for each of us. I don't know if I buy the whole 'soul mate' thing, but I think that's close enough a description. Whatever, there are billions of people on this planet......you've just got to get the right one close to you. And you, and she, have to simultaneously recognize that you are perfect for each other. Don't despair, though, at this apparent statistical improbability - stranger things happen every day.
Hey, I've seen those Canadian babes, eh.......mm mm mm.......

meeting someone new is always sweaty palm time for me since I'm naturally very sensitive! :D
I get just as tongue-tied around men as they do around me. :silly: Mostly I have to just be with people awhile, doing some activity together, then I can have the chance to relax and open up.
I like the idea of greeting six people every day. I did this several years ago (though, I limited it to 3 at first) to get control of a bout of social anxiety. Worked too.

I feel tormented that I see beautiful women all the time, and can't get the courage to talk to them. I think it's making me bitter and even more anti-social (which I didn't think was possible).
Today, after work, I was waiting for a ride and the store was full of beautiful women and could not talk to any of them (although after working all day in the AZ sun I was not really presentable). Then there was the two smooching co-workers just to rub it in.
The last girl I actually told I like (and I thought she was interested in me too) suddenly ran in the other direction.
And yes, unfortunately a lot of women do seem to go for big dicks (and I'm NOT talking about genitalia).

1. Work on improving yourself - physically, mentally, and spiritually.
2. Once somewhat satisfied with #1, learn to notice the uniqueness of the individual, and then start up a conversation based upon that uniqueness or interest you know they are interested in. And your in like Flynn.

I am so into this girl I just met :-)We met 2 weeks ago, she was sitting there reading “A Clockwork Orange” I decided that that was pretty sexy, and for the first time in my life I walked up to a hot stranger. Well I have no clue how I got through the first conversation, but we totally hit it off, she even ended up asking me out first which was very nice of her. As of now things are still going great and we are having a blast together. I’m not gloating, well maybe a little bit, but the real point is that people are meeting people every day and even though it is sooo scary it pays off big time once you put yourself out there.
edit: can I come over and play poker too, I can be the wacky guy from downstairs.

| 69. The power of conversation pieces. |

To meet people, you should always have unique props like books, hats, jewelry, etc. that will stimulate conversation.
To compliment a woman, find something unique about her clothing/jewelrey/books that shows a bit of her soul/personality. That is a compliment people remember, because it seems to verify their individuality and shows you noticed them for who they are.

I have two older sisters, no brothers. I consider myself an intellectual. Sound familiar?
Well, the bane of us intellectual younger brothers is that we are cursed with being able to see multiple perspectives in many situations, especially when it comes to women. I am so envious of unsophisticated clods who simply act on impulse.
1st advice: Alcohol helps suppress the intellect :)
2nd advice: Develop and build your own respect for yourself and your abilities. Develop and establish moral and social codes to adhere to, and by doing this you will gain confidence in all areas of life. Eventually, dating women will seem relatively simplistic in the greater scheme of things.
Having sisters, you are no doubt more accomplished in conversing casually with women once you get to know them. Now, you need to understand what it takes to be a man -- which oftentimes takes the ability to make rash judments and bullheadedly stick by them :) But seriously, you have to learn that if a woman is interested in you, you just need to start talking and hope for the best. 9/10 says that you'll be just fine. They probably won't actually remember what you said, but that you seemed interested in them. And once you build yourself up, mentally, physically, and spiritually -- they will be drawn to you.
And remember the 3 Rs of listening. Reflect, rephrase, and respond. Women love to talk. But you have to learn to love to listen to them.

Yeah I always do better when schwacked, anyway, thanks for the advice. You were pretty bang on with the sister analogy. It really does help you know how to converse, but I also think that I may be intimidated by women cause I grew up with the two biggest bitches West of Kansas City! But we get along great now, anyway time for bed take er easy TM

Stop looking for someone. You are likely not spending enough time developing yourself. Develop your passions. Find some hobbies. Go out and do them. Along the way you will meet people. These people will share your passions and one of them may even want to share your life.
If your focus is finding someone else then you will eventually lose anything of interest that once defined you. You need dynamics that make you stand out and define you rather than just a laundry list of desires for someone else.
So get out there and develop some passions. Something that gives meaning to your life. Something that others may partake in. This is how to be complete.
