Tommorrow night my daughter - who happens to be president of the Sweet Briar College Young Democrats - is opening as Miranda in Silent Heroes. Unfortunatley, her extremely proud parents can't be there for her.
We are sitting here in the country in Texas waiting for the sale of our property to close so we will have the money to move to a new job,
Anyway, if any of you can go in our stead, please do.

| 2. "Silent Heroes" opens tonight on |
|
Here is the playbill from their website:
SB Theatre's next production in the Studio Theatre is: Silent Heroes By Linda Escalera Baggs November 11 and 12, 2005
7:30 pm in Babcock Studio Theatre.
Admission Free of Charge
Here is a synopsis of the play from another site:
The cast is comprised of 6 women on stage and an unseen male announcer's voice. The women are of various ages and experience in the service with their husbands. The setting is the ready room at an airplane hangar at Marine Air Corps Station at Beaufort, SC. The 6 women have been called in because their pilot husbands were on a mission together and one did not return. The women share their feelings, experiences and fears as they await word of whose husband will not return.
and this from anothr site:
Storyline: Six wives of Marine pilots gather in a bare room at the Marine Corps Air Station at Beaufort, South Carolina in the middle of the night, having been summoned because a training accident has occurred. It appears that one of their husbands has died - but which one? They support each other as much as they can while each desperately hopes that her husband isn’t the one not coming home. As one challenges the other who says she hopes it isn’t her husband: “Who do you hope it is?”
Abby plays the part of Miranda, a "non-traditional military wife" who was actually at Kent State.

| 4. she plays the role of Miranda |
|
sort of a DU military wife (before the days of DU)
we could only send her a virtual rose by email. When the sale on this place finally closes we will be able to go see her.

I actually know someone who went to Sweet Briar. But she had a bad experience and transferred to the school I teach at now. She says the campus is beautiful... and but for the one incident, enjoyed her time there.

You may have seen that on here before - I only say it in every other post -
The Campus IS beautiful - one of the reasons that we felt this was right for her was the support that she was able to get from faculty re: her bipolar - she also considered AU in DC
BTW, thanks.
