Normally they are made with ground pork, wood ear mushrooms, Thai basil, fish sauce and cellophane noodles, wrapped in spring roll wrappers and deep fried.
He made them with ground turkey this time (since it is a potluck, and we are not sure of the dietary restrictions of everyone at the preschool - since pork is banned by both jews and muslims - and our daughter's preschool is very diverse).

Although mine will be veggie, and without the 'shrooms since the wife is allergic. But yummie nonetheless!
