| Ducking out of the VA really fast like in a red state. (Funny one) |

I took my aunt to the VA hospital yesterday in Fayetteville, NC. We went through the normal routine until we were on the way out. On the way out, I was pushing her through the hallway to the exit doors that led to the parking lot. We passed a picture of Bush on the wall. She said very loudly, "Look at that ugly, lying son of a bitch!" Everyone stopped and looked. At first, they looked dumbfounded. They followed her line of vision and started muttering amongst themselves. I thought Oh shit we've had it. They looked disdainfully at us, as we strolled out. When we got outside another vet who was following us was smiling at us. When my aunt asked him to help get her in the car, he was more than happy to help. I guess there is one other dem in Fayetteville, so this entire state isn't totally red. :D

Please tell your aunt: :yourock:
(There were probably others there who agreed, but were too afraid to speak up.)

| 3. You know, lots of elderly people hate him. |

They've been around long enough to see the longe duree of political tides--even elderly Republicans know that Bush is positively evil.
I think the age group that's going to stand behind Bush, come hell or high water, are the 35-50 somethings. They have bitten his ideological hook, and damned everyone else.
There's an elderly farmer here (I'd guess in his early 90s), who, when I run into him at the grocer's or post office, always bends my ear on "I can't believe that stupid Bush did yada yada yada." He knows me because I'm pretty well-known as a political activist in my home town and county. It never fails. When I see him coming, I know my day is going to get better. I guess I'm his relief valve.
