Anyone know anything about computer speakers?

I have a set of speakers for my computer, but for some reason I can not have both hooked up. If I try to have both hooked up I get interference. Anyone know what causes this and what I can do to fix it?

2. Are they located near to your monitor?

Are they picking up local radio stations? Is there a kink or some sort of cut in the connecting cord?

Edit: Also, try moving your speakers away from your computer and monitor as far as possible. These are shielded speakers, correct? Did you connect the speakers to the correct connection on your sound card?

They are not picking up any stations. It just comes out in a buzzing sound of sort. They worked fine at first. They are right next to the monitor. What are shielded speakers?

4. It is simply a metallicized shield, sometimes of composite material

that blocks signals, radio, microwave, television, etc... from interferring with the sound signal that is being produced. However, if you place the speakers to close to another electronic object the signals can be too powerful even for the shields. At least that is the way I understand it. Most speakers of any quality have them. I would try to change their placement first.
