How would a snail end up in my kitchen?

So I'm making a lovely lentil stew. I had scrubbed and diced the potatoes and set them aside. Just as I was going to put them in the pot, I noticed a small snail on the outside of the bowl they were in. How would this have happened? Other ingredient - lentil and spinach. I was cleaning the spinach. Would a snail live in a bunch of spinach in a bag in my refrigerator for 3 days?

4. Yep, came fromt the spinach

when cold, they just go into a dormant state.

He probably woke up and decided to start exploring his new world.

and followed you in the door when he saw you carrying his lunch.

snails love them some spinach

they have a slow metabolism and a fridge is not a freezer so, yeah, it wouldn't be harmed or anything

don't put it out in MY garden
