I am more concerned about his religion than his airplane.

| 20. Until the followers come on TV and talk bad about other people |
|
who don't belong to their religion. Like Tom Cruise did. Then it becomes other people's business.

| 23. Tom Cruise is crazy... |
|
nothing to do with his religion, IMO.
Besides, this was about John Travolta and he's at least half sane from what I can see.
People talk about their religion publicly all the time. I only care when an attempt is made for it become policy for the rest of us.

A "type rating" is a special endorsement on a pilot license for a specific make and model of aircraft. Any that weighs over 18,500 lb or is turbojet powered requires s separate FAA test and thus the endorsement. For example, my Commercial license includes "airplanes, multi-engine land" which means I'm legal to fly any plane that's under 18.5K-lb and has propellors. (Seaplanes are another category but follow the same general rules)...but I was required to get 'type ratings' for other certain large aircraft. Not that I think a 707 is all that difficult to fly but they don't just give out type ratings to anybody. (Also, any plane that requires a type also requires 2 pilots)

He owns several large planes and has a private, 707 runway on his property.
