Most high-class stores (Nordstrom's etc.) carry a range of well-made, comfortable, and sexy underwear. You might have to look around through their stock. But they will help measure you to find something that looks good and feels good to wear.

If you want fetish gear... Skin Two. A British company. With conversion rates and shipping time it may seem like too much trouble. It's not. They have all the usual stuff. But good quality. They also carry Kim West - dresses made out of latex, rubber or leather that make you look like a virginal Christian prom queen (very modest - nothing showing) that scream "Fuck me!" Plus they've always been more than helpful - and if you're a real perv, they give you freebies :)

I was thumbing through a Taschen catalog a few years ago. It is an amazing book publisher from Germany . Their fine art and architecture series are wonderful, they also have lots of erotica. So I am looking through the catalog while talking to a friend on the phone. A photograph from a fetish photo book had me hypnotized - a woman all in shiny red rubber- with a gigantic Indian headdress. I spoke aloud and apropos of nothing in the conversation said thoughtfully "Wow, Sex sure is strange". A long silence ensued and my friend said, "Uh, well, it can be...I guess". Back in the day, it looked sexy but was shoddily made and very uncomfortable for most of the women I was intimate with.

When I used to hang out in rock clubs a lot, I'd find lots of great clothing from Frederick's--perfect party wear. They used to have 'grab-bag' sales at the end of the season where you could get tops for 4 bucks, skirts for 9, etc, but you didn't choose--they'd just send you one. For that price, it was worth it. Stuff I didn't like, I'd give away, but I also got some stuff I loved. Too bad they don't do that anymore.

36. There is a Fredericks in Moscow, in the old GUM department store

on one of the arcades. Less than 200 feet from Lenin's Tomb. Saw it with my own shocked eyes.

Fredericks went big time and commercial, and is in malls all over the US.

I remember the old days when they had only the big purple store on Hollywood Boulevard, and their seconds store down the street, called Playmates, which was even more fun.

I also like Trashy Lingerie over on La Cienega.

My ex showed me these places, but she used to design and sew her own lingerie.
