Have you ever been in love so much that you can't think of anything but your lover's face.... Your lover's scent.... YOur lover's laugh....
And have you ever been loved to feel the power that love can give you when you know it is meant to be.......
Sigh.......

Or if it has I didn't see it. (Very bad at recognising and interpreting faces you see)

but that sounds a lot more like infatuation than any sort of enduring love. I very much love Call Me Wesley's face, the scent of him, and the way he laughs, but now that we've been together a while, it's a rational love that doesn't hold me captive to longing. This is a love that allows me to think of other things, like making a living, being a good friend to other people, and taking care of my own needs. :)

|
spark is nice and it still exists in my relationship with CMW, but spark alone wouldn't be enough for us. (I like spark as well as the next person, but if I'd attempted relationships with every man with whom I'd shared that spark, I would have wasted a _lot_ of time and resources. :) )
I do know what you mean, though.

the disadvantages of letting it catch hold outweigh the advantages. For example, I think most of us meet people outside of our primary intimate relationship with whom we share a "spark." It's good to know how to channel that spark. For me, that spark can become a lifelong friendship that doesn't subject anyone to protracted (and futile) longing or a divorce.
Geez, it sounds like I'm arguing _against_ "spark," but really, I'm not. Spark rocks, truly. :loveya:

You're a smart old lady, Heidi (can't get over the fact you're older than me!). That sort of immediate can't-stop-myself passion ends fairly quickly. Real love mellows and grows. It becomes a part of your whole life. Not the sum of your life, but a part of it that adds meaning to what you do. And gives you the space to do it - it's just there, an endless well that you can draw on but doesn't consume you. In fact, it makes you stronger.
On the other hand.... you have Wesley and who wouldn't fall in love with him?
Khash.

I adore you, my friend, but my adoration doesn't, you know, like consume my life. Mostly, it just makes me tingly.

All the time. Actually, I'm very lucky. I like to keep my ex-lovers close to me and they also feel the same way. So it just goes on and on...
So who is she, Chris?
