I consider meat to be a seasoning that you add to your basic staples of vegetables and grains. If the price is too high, you eat less and enjoy it more.

Think stir-fry, or pasta with meat sauce, or most stews. A little bit of meat to add flavor and some nutrients, with a lot of grains and veggies.

But it's not anybody I know. While I don't eat meat because I don't believe in killing animals, I don't berate those who do eat meat. Yes, I would prefer that no animals die for consumption purposes, but I'm no radical nor do I prostelytize about vegetarianism.

You can vote with your dollars pretty easily these days by buying eggs from cage free hens, free range beef, etc. I try to do this.

14. There's a lot of talk, but no "movement" per se that I know of.

We spend BIG bux to buy humanely-raised meat (and as locally as possible). We do think it's important, if you're gong to kill an animal, to give it as good a life as you can before you kil it and eat it.
