| Does Anyone Have a Good Stuffing Recipe? |
|
My sister is having Christmas Dinner for the first time and I told her I'd make the stuffing.
I was thinking of doing something with nuts and apples, or dried cranberries. Does anyone have a traditional-or nontraditional recipe that they particularly like?

If you cook it in the bird, it's stuffing. Else, it's dressing. Here's a good site with recipes and tips: http://busycooks.about.com/library/recipes/blstuffing101.htm

Stuffing (or dressing) ain' t meant to be health food and should be constructed that way.

| 5. Make the traditional, but add. . . |

chopped walnuts. Gives a satisfying crunchiness. Add about 1-2 cups, depending on how much you make. (Sorry I can't be more specific on measurements. Stuffing is one thing that I do purely by feel and sight. We like it slightly dry to glop gravy over, rather than the mushier versions.)
Also use whole wheat bread instead of white.
I don't bother stuffing the bird, but bake the stuffing in a casserole, uncovered, till the top gets browned.

1 package of Pepperidge Farm dressing 1 package of "cubes" 1 onion finely chopped some mushrooms finely chopped 2 sticks of celery finely chopped a little sausage (if you get one of those round things (you know what I mean), use about a third) fry it and make sure there are small pieces 1 chicken boullion little bit of garlic
Mix all of the above and you will he best dressing ever.
