| Is the DU losing momentum? |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 12:59 AM by Ernesto
Maybe it's the holidays or maybe bushco's info management, but it sure seems quiet around here (except for the endless vanity posts, of course)...... Update: I just looked over the lounge, it's also pretty weak today/night.

| 3. It's not the same crowd tonight, but that is just because of the holidays |
|
I'm sure.
Actually, I'm getting more PM's than usual tonight, so I think it's just "different"
DU's momentum is not lost. It is increasing constantly since they came into existence.

| 4. It's the Holidays, AND . . . |

Bushie Boy has silenced the crowd with the production of Saddam Hussein.
And school's out for Christmas Vacation. Let's face it, the college crowd . . . Crowds this place.
We'll get going again in primary season. Or when Bushie commits some new atrocity.

are playing a role. I know I haven't been posting much because I've been busy with tying up things at work and doing other things.
However, I disagree with the assertion that the college crowd is a primary force here. Although it is not scientific by any means, any of the demographic polls have show a bell curve for age distribution and the majority of posters here are between 30 and 50.

Probably better to enjoy ones days unaware of all the shit going down, until it finally blindsides you in the form of another terrorist attack or Bush declaring martial law, or your company downsizing you onto the street.
Better to live happily for one year than miserably for two, right? It's very tempting to just turn my back, and enjoy the view outside my window, and stop micro-analyzing every news report for sinister implications and deceptions. That seems to be the main purpose of DU.
Even if AQ does manage to hijack 10 planes to crash into 10 different targets, I'm still at less statistical risk than I would be driving to each of those cities, so why worry? And really, if it comes down to that kind of terrorist event, why bother sticking around anyway?

I'm brand new, and I'm not going anywhere. I was getting so stressed out until I found this site to express my opinions and frustrations. TGDU!
