Not like I care. I've never been a big New Year's guy. But I don't know anyone in this town. Guess I'll finish my bottle of Jameson and cry myself to sleep.

I've never liked New Year's Eve parties. Old Ed McMahon used to refer to New Year's Eve as Amateur Night and I've come to believe he was right.

I've been to bars where parties turned into drunken spectacles and I've been to private parties where people were pathetically trying to appear to have a good time.

I'll take a nice snifter of brandy, a good book and a few hours of quiet introspection any day.
