1. Electro Woman and Dyna Girl! WOO HOO! My faves were Spiderman, Thor,
Iron Man, Batman, Green Lantern, Fantastic Four, Groo, Normalman, and Flaming Carrot.

I have never had much more than disdain for Superman.

The great Denny O'Neil made this the best series of the late 80's/early90's:

And the Green Arrow, who was not only brilliantly re-imagined by O'Neil in the early 70's, but also by Mike Grell in the late 80's:

And finally, Too Much Coffee Man:

11. I actually was never a big Superman guy.He was TOO powerful.
He could do anything...where's the tension? :)

I always liked Batman the best.He was smart as hell (I mean c'mon, they had a team up with friggin Sherlock Holmes...Sher-friggin-lock Holmes!)...he was slightly demented...and,most importantly for any superhero,he looked really, really cool.

And need I go into the attributes of the Batarang? I think not.

Oh,and Superman is a Republican.

20. Quit listening to Imus and pay attention!
His "Crusade" (your first tip there,Sparky) was just part of the PNAC plan to take plant evidence in Iraq to justify going to war in the first place, something I'm sure whatever candidate YOU support voted for,I might add.

Know the only reason we haven't invaded Iran yet? Kryptonite.Iran has stockpiles of the "greencake" as it's called.

Be glad.

And Batman may have had a boytoy but you took the low blow with those pics,so you're even :D

Lastly,I hope you realize that picking on Godzilla to me is sort of like picking on Hannibal Lector's culinary tastes to his face.

23. Yeah,evidence ginned up by the Swift Boat Veteran's Against Batman.
Keep watching that FOX News a little more and you'll believe Wonder Woman was some kind of Communist.

There's Batman out there fighting scary ass dudes like the Joker,Two-Face,and Scarecrow, and who does Superman fight...a guy named Lex.Oooooooooo....scary stuff there!

Gamera only says that because Godzilla's mom refused his drunken advances one night in Tokyo over a nice people dinner. At the moment she has a restraining order out on him for sticking more than his head out of his shell.

26. Well, I was never too big into the super heroes
but as a kid I read a lot of Spiderman and Batman and still have a soft spot for both. The character that hooked me on comic was this moss encrusted mocker of a man...

none other than the great Swamp Thing by the great Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson.

I also have a fondness for Zatanna.

The only "super hero" I'm following these days is the original Sandman, Wesley Dodds.

it's a wonder I ever eventually got laid. On the other hand, I like nerdy women, so I guess maybe it worked in my favor.

Batman was one of the few DC titles (along with the Sandman series) I liked. Superman and Wonder Woman were a little too... pure/fluffy for me, although I read some of their books too. I just felt that when I was younger the Marvel writing was better for the most part.

Did anyone else feel conflicted when they got older with having been into Captain America, GI Joe, etc.? I got over it, but when I first started questioning the "powers that be" I felt certain characters were too jingoistic or something. It took a bit more growing up to realize that I could be (and am) both patriotic and questioning simultaneously, and then a couple more to realize that to question authority is the backbone of being patriotic.

I always identified with him because Peter Parker was kind of the smart, but nerdy, picked upon loner when he was in high school... and, he always had those quips when he was Spider-Man.
