and i don't mind*. i was hanging out with some friends after a concert at a mall tonight, and was more or less the only on not smoking. ok local bands, one that was my favorite local band for a while, but then the got to be not so good. i got to skank a bit, which was real nice, since there aren't really any ska shows around here anymore.
so yeah, that was my evening, how was yours?
*yes, i know even secondhad tobacco smoke is bad for me, but there's something about it, the way it hangs in the air, and the way it smells, that make it almost conforting.

shooting my friend's band (I just happen to have a decent digital camera, so the asked me to shoot their gigs and I accepted). I SMELL LIKE SMOKE. It is, as you said, an almost comforting smell, but I know that in the morning all of tese clothes will smell of STALE smoke...I guess I'm doing laundry early tomorrow...

| 3. Hey! What real Irish pub were you in? |
|
Was it in Dublin, Limerick, Tipperary or on an island named "Long"? Either way I resent the the way some people on this site try to represent Irish people though they know NOTHING about us. They rely on stereotypes from one hundred years ago and the views from some rednecks in the northeast suburbs. Fact is, many millions of Americans, including many of you, have Irish blood. Quit shitting on it. We are strong and sensible people. I'm so tired of the American view. Most of you do not get it.

and not a drop of Irish blood. Perhaps that's why I missed any characterization of the pub as "real" or any observation, negative or otherwise, of the Irish in the post to which you responded.

| 8. Actually, it was in a suburb of Cleveland... |
|
And I neither called it a "real" Irish pub nor made any remarks about the Irish (I'm 25% Irish myself).
Perhaps we are a little sensitive this morning?

| 7. Our local hardware store |
|
(tiny town...)
Every Sunday morning, the local old farmers who've parcelled off their land to the point where they don't need to farm anymore, drive their new pickups down to the hardware store, and sit with their coffee cups and cigs in folding chairs, and talk and talk and talk.
It's kind of quaint. Except if you run in for a box of nails, you come out smelling like you've been barhopping.
