| In your opinion, what is the best newspaper? |

I'd probably have to go with The New York Times, and although I don't read them as much as I should, The Washington Post is good, as is The Wall Street Journal (not the editorial pages, though).

complain about the Bias of the New York Times? For crying out loud they have the Wall Street Journal which is in the top three in circulation right there with the NYT nationally and they have a Conservative editorial slant. I just don't understand why they claim it's wrong for the NYT to be "biased" yet I never hear them mention the Wall Street Journal.

The Journal actually has a higher circulation than The Times. The difference, though, is that The Times is a national newspaper, while The Journal is a business paper that does so some news coverage outside the business world. Even conservatives like William Kristol agree that The Times' coverage of the news is unmatched. The Times runs seven days per week, while The Journal only runs five. Because of all those reasons, The Times is arguably more influential on what is news. It's often a great source for all of those news programs. Think of how many times Tim Russert on "Meet the Press," when not dealing with a regional issue (i.e. Howard Dean's affect on Vermont), uses The Times.
This, I believe, creates a certain amount of jealousy in the journalism field.

seems to be quoted a lot here. Especially with news that goes unreported here in the U.S.

The Times being tops. Great editorial page and great op-ed writers.
Newsday is underrated, it's my hometown newspaper and it's definately left of center in it's coverage.
The News has taken a hard right turn as of late, and the Posts only redeeming quality is it's sports section.

The St.Petersburg Times (Florida) has always been a wonderful left-leaning paper in a state chock-full of right-wing rags.
They're one of the very few Newspapers that will come right out and call Bush an Idiot.

They report the news accurately and impartially. Kind of like the press or something.
