Rebecca and Nate are back, spending week ends with us. Rebecca is four Nate is eight.
Rebecca is a very busy, curious, pixie little girl. She often hangs onto my arm while I sit here at my computer. She tugs away "Can I type now?" "I want some candy." "Can I look at the pictures again?" "Can I type now?"
"No." I tell her. "Leave me alone Rebeccy. I am not awake yet." To which she replies; "Your eyes are open."
Nate has video game his aunt Pattie bought for him. He is a quiet boy, thoughtful, trying to cope with the divorce his parents are doing.
Their father, our son, comes to our house to visit his children. As he left the other day little Rebecca stood at the window saying "Good bye daddy! I love you daddy! Good bye daddy! I love you daddy! Please come back daddy!"
Yes my little Rebecca, my eyes are open.

The kids are very lucky to have you. Because they can stay with you they will be OK. How hard this must be for all of you.

| 3. My sister is getting ready to leave her busband. |

It scares me to think about their 3 kids. They struggle to make ends meet already and she has been asking me about finances and helping her budget her money.
The kids are lucky to have you there. Just stick by them and they will make it.

| 6. Rebecca is four years old. |

I was four years old when my parents were divorced. I remember the occasion very well. I can close my eyes and see my sisters eight, six and me four waiting alone in an old falling down farm house eating peanut butter and bread, waiting and waiting for mom and dad to come home.. I did not see my mother again until I was twenty one and in the Navy.
We, my sisters and I got into the bad second marriage and I (we) suffered physical and mental abuse from five to sixteen at which time I ran away.
So I share this little story with which I have been living for months in the hope that some of our younger Duers will take note and enter carefully into marriage, thinking of the children, always thinking of the children.

age. I don't know how people can separate when there are kids... maybe I am just not mentally prepared for it. I hope things work out. I know she has a good grandpa who will help her all he can.

shipmate. Life is full of problems. It is a shame children must suffer.
The children have a very loving grand mother.

To keep working at a pretty good marriage that has it's small flaws. Hugs to Rebecca and to Nate...and to you, for being Grandpa.
