I'm not a entertainment snob so the mark of good entertainment to me is, well, entertainment.
I don't look for higher meaning. I don't look for artsy fartsy.
Was I entertained for two hours. Yes.

| 9. Butterfly Effect is one of the best movies |
|
I've seen in a long time. The scriptwriters clearly spent a lot of time thinking about how to trigger the changes, and how the changes would play out. Sometimes reviewers are completely full of crap.
I agree that the Blair Witch Project was totally over hyped and not worth seeing. I'm sorry I spent money to see it.

But am now planning on seeing it tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation. I have seen previews and it looked pretty interesting, but most movies turn out to be disappointments, these days.

I am an admitted sucker when it comes to time-travel movies. And if there's a lost-love element to it, all the better.

I read the book, too, so I was looking forward to the movie. Looks like I'll have to wait until the DVD release unless one of the local dinner-and-a-movie venues shows it.

|
I liked the basic time-travel premise, the use of montage, and the ending but I thought the acting was pretty awful. I kept wondering how much better the movie might be if the hero were played by a good actor. I don't mind Kutcher but I think he was out of his depth. And I'm still trying to figure out how the scene with the knife in the kitchen fits.
