Why is it so hard to get into a fight when the guy you wanna beat deserves it?

Last night I was at the pub and talking to this girl I know. Her guy friend came over and asked if she had a light and she passed him a lighter and dropped it, it landed at my feet. I leaned over and grabbed it and gave it to the guy. Then he stood up and purposely dropped it again. I said, "You're getting it this time." Then he says, "I was just busy admiring your sweater." (I was wearing a cable-knit). I said, something back, what I can't remember.
Then, I followed the guy outside. He was having a cigarette and so I lit one up and got really close to him and just started giving him the, "Hey, douchebag, let's rumble" look. And he wouldn't even make eye contact. So, I said, "Don't wanna look at my sweater now?" And he still wouldn't make eye contact.

Made me mad, that guy needed and ass-kicking.

unless the cops are cool, or unless it's your bar, then they cover for you.

but there is no negotiation with fighting. the best thing is to just hit them. that way they aren't prepared and you have a better chance of neutralizing any potential threat. especially if you knock them out or knock them to the ground. then you can proceed to stomp them real good.

you don't need someone's consent. just kick ass and take names.

i'm really not that aggressive, i promise, but i've been in my share of bar fights. if it comes down to it, you finish it as fast as you can and you get outta dodge. of course, not letting it come down to it is your best option.

seriously though, if a person is afraid to spend 3 hours in lock up, they probably shouldn't be boastful about their "street fighting" ways.

venue counts a lot too: yuppie joints with plenty of well behaved people - the bouncers usually will control it and the cops never show up.

so you usually get two pretty boys dancing around each other to impress some coke-addled bar chicks who are still trying to squeeze out every last gasp of their sorority glory days.
