| My computer at work died today |
|
You might think I'm nuts but I am rather sad. That computer has been with me for 1.5 years. It was one of my most loyal friends at work (Don't laugh.). To make things worse, I lost everything in it including my beautiful sunset that I had as wall paper. I'm thinking about having a memorial service. Am I pathetic?

BUT I do hope that from now on you'll remember to save your important "stuff" (whether work-related or not). Did the hard drive die or was it some other hardware problem? If the hard-drive is ok then all is not lost.

It froze five times in the past two days and made a clicking sound. Then it failed to reboot twice. The accountant is bringing it home to look at it, but she said that she thinks that the hard drive died. Yes, next time I will save anything important. I learned my lesson. computers don't last forever.

You can replace the hard drive and reload it, then hook up the old drive as a second drive and see if tou can copy anything off it.
