want this guy to be the pilot when I fly. It is about time we allow pilots that want to carry to do so.

| 4. This is the reason ... |

that I may never fly again.
For one thing, a pilot would not carry a lethal gun. By lethal I mean normal bullets.
If a bullet can penatrate body armor, it will go through the skin of an aircraft like its butter. If a gun is fired on an aircraft, the bullet is most likely going to exit the aircaft. This can be as fatal as someone taking control of an aircraft and crashing it. Imagine reading in the paper about how yet another aircraft has crashed killing all on board because of an accidental/unintended firearm discharge ? I'll take my chances wrestling a guy to the ground.
I understand that there are shatter bullets. Once they hit a hard (enough) object, the bullet dissinegrates. This type of bullet is less likely to breach the skin of an aircraft. They also may not have the same effect on the target (but it sure will smart).
Again, the prospect of armed anything on a flight will keep my feet firmly planted on terra ferma. BTW, I am a flight enthusiast. I love to fly.
Cheers Drifter
