It's all worked out!!

I'm getting estimates from moving companies today and Tuesday. Lelapin is coming home over the weekend to help pack. I've accepted a job that will pay more than I've ever made in my life with the potential to earn double in a few years. (And they're giving me an advance since they only pay monthly...) My new landlord is great and will allow both cats. The 1920's Arts and Crafts style house is painted and updated beautifully and across the street from a park. My rent is less than here so I can start living below my means. The tenant below me (it's a duplex) likes to mow grass and has a monster snowblower and clears the snow in the winter. How perfect is that??

The downsides? I have to be there on the 2nd to start work and can't get into my new place until the 14th. Lelapin will stay here with the cats, so I will have to pay more rent and I haven't gotten a paycheck in nearly two months. I'm trying to get my landlord to take it out of my deposit. My parents have finally agreed to help pay a moving company as I'm running out of the money I've been holding on to so carefully. Even my ex-inlaws offered to pay my security deposit.

I couldn't have done this without all the encouragement I received here. Retro has been my angel, allowing me to stay at his house 3 different times as I interviewed for jobs and has been a voice of reason, sarcasm (when appropriate) and encouragement. (It *is* A Wonderful Life Clarence...) Dangerously Amused has offered a place to stay until my place is ready. The commute will be tough, but it's only for a couple weeks. Hisownpetard has tolerated multiple phone calls as I try to find my courage and strength. And so many others...

I can't tell you how exciting and terrifying (in a good way) all this is to me. I've wandered between purgatory and hell the last 10 long years and it's almost over. Thank god it's almost over.

When I was studying for tough exams, or moving cross country, or whatever, I'd always say: "OK, this time next month, the exam will be done", or "this time next month, I'll be moved and settled in" - and for some reason, that helped. I guess it just helped me realize that the particular hurdle I was facing WOULD be over at some point.

The placement agency was able to get me an advance since the company pays once a month on the 7th of the month. I won't get a paycheck until July 7th. :wow:
