| Why was Indiana Jones bad while Harry Potter sequels seem to get better? |
|
My thought: Harry Potter has different people making the films -- fresh vision makes for better movies.
Plus, the Potter sequels are changing not just to reflect the aging of the characters but also in recognizing it's audiences are becoming more sophisticated moviegoers.

| 3. I personally found that I liked the first Potter movie best, and it went down from there... |
|
but I'm one of those who reads the books first then gets annoyed when the movie differs from the book. :P And because the books kept getting longer, more and more stuff had to be cut from the movies. To the point where the last one was just a weird mishmash of stuff. Although I think that was mostly the director, not the scriptwriters. The director seemed to be perfectly willing to waste screen time on flashy special effects, but none whatsoever on storytelling and character/plot development.

The Harry Potter films aren't really sequels, just a continuation of the story. But I prefer the books.
Because Lucas thinks he's god and no longer tries because we should worship him no matter what trash he throws at us...

| 5. Is it a bad thing that I don't "get" Harry Potter? |
|
I don't like the books and the movies are a give and take thing that I see for the children's sake. Now Indiana? Love them.

What a disaster it was. No desire to do anything else with the series.

| 8. I attempted, 5 times, to get through the first book... |

...and it was a disaster and my daughter was upset with me. To me, it's just a big mess.

Should have made that clearer.
