Church sign....

So I'm driving my daughters home from school today and on our route we always pass this tiny fundamentalist church. Since I actually sat in on one of their services for a soc. class and know that they are "rapture ready", I never pay attention to thier sign, but today my daughter says "I wonder if there is facebook too"....

in response to my puzzled glance she says "The sign on that church said 'Jesus Died for My Space in Heaven"...I wish I had my camera with me;)

1. Oh, man.

There's one I've seen out here in Fundieland a couple of times that says"God grades on the cross, not on the curve", and I'm all like :wtf:

3. and the really ironic part of it is that because my kids have had

no formal religious education, if they start believing that there is facebook and myspace up there, they may demand to be baptized tomorrow;)

5. My favorite is from a Catholic Church

Every fall, St. Anne's church in Warren has a carnival. It is their "Sausage Festival" and the sign they put up has a drawing of a little boy on it. I know that the people who put it up, did so with no bad thoughts, but in light of the church's scandals...maybe they should come up with a new theme idea for their yearly carnival.

I need to take a picture of it this fall, and send it to Bill Maher. Some jokes just write themselves.

In rural georgia, "those" churches outnumber gas stations.
