That's what we Brits call the only bacon seemingly available in the US; and we use the term 'back bacon' too.

...everywhere that has some foodstuff or dish named after it simply uses "our" or "here" when describing it themselves. Hence, Lamb Madras becomes Lamb Here, English Muffins become Our Muffins, and French Fries become Nos Frites.
