Seriously...a great life-lesson I'm learning...just ask. You never know what will transpire. After 3 years of not dating, I just got out of a short-term relationship that didn't work and I have a "fan" (her words. A customer at work) who shouts "I love you!" every time I see her. What do both of these women have in common. They're both "out of my league."

Early in my translation career, I got involved in an online mailing list for translators. In no time I had four side conversations going. Of the four, I got along great with two of them online but not in real life, got along great in real life with the third but had little to say online, and had good e-mail and real-life conversations with only one of them.

So even if you absolutely love someone online, you may find them distant or disgusting in person.
