I think I'll go home and lie very still
                        feigning terminal illness.
Then the neighbors will all troop over to stare,
                        my love, perhaps, among them.
How she'll smile while the specialists 
                        snarl in their teeth!—

This really makes you want to to know the full story. It's like a teaser for a good book. Now it's not just the relationship that is frustrated, it's the readers too.

I've always read this as a man "complaining" about being too tired from all the hot sex he's having to go about his daily life.

6. I don't get that impression at all.

It seems like there is something that emotionally ails him, and this is his way of acting out about it. I get the sense that he's announcing to her that something's wrong, and she knows what it is.

I didn't get the idea of sex at all from this.
:shrug:

I could be way off base though.
