| Are AVG daily updates failing for anybody else? |
|
My daily updates have been failing all week. There's no info about this on the website. I might try to uninstall/reinstall, but I thought I'd check first to see if anybody else is experiencing the same problem.

Odd, I've been trying manual updates all week, and it still hasn't worked. Then, I post in the lounge and I decide to try one more manual update before an uninstall/reinstall, and it works. I guess in order for the AVG update manager to work, you occasionally have to look like a dumbass in the lounge. :dunce:

| 5. It's been happening to me too. |

It used to just go about it's business quietly and now, about every other day, I have to manually update it.

| 8. Yes, had a problem last night. I've uninstalled it anyway. Moved to Avast. |
|
I'm dissapointed as hell in 8.0. The avgsrv.exe (I think; can't remember what the file name was now, sorry) was taking up wayyyyyyyy to much CPU for me. But I've only had Avast for about a day, so I'll have to see how it stacks up.

| 9. Let me know how that works out for you. |
|
The manual update worked for me shortly after I posted, but I've been hearing good things about Avast lately.

I know already that certain scans do take longer, but unlike AVG; you can choose how to scan; you can do a light scan, a regular one, or a thorough one. That one takes quite a long time. I also noticed that at the moment, Avast is taking up less CPU, of course. We'll see what happens after the scan. I have to keep pausing it for other reasons, lol.
