| Bragging about my mother. Long life, active mind. |
|
This summer, at age 99 years and 9 months, my mother survived MRSA. At age 99 years, 11 months and 3 weeks she wrote a poem celebrating her life. Last Friday, at age 100 years and four days, she survived emergency surgery.
Her 100th birthday party was glorious, at least 75 people signed the guest book, relatives came from 11 states, she got over 150 birthday cards, the Texas Rangers sent her a baseball signed by Nolan Ryan and, on their Sunday broadcast, showed her picture and talked about her love of the Rangers.
Teddy Roosevelt was president when she was born and her favorite president was FDR.
Go Mother!!

| 1. How wonderful! You are so lucky to have had her this long! |

I'm jealous. My own mom passed in 2002 at the age of 75. I would KILL to have her here until she was 100.
And, your rant proves she did a great job raising you.

How lucky you are.
She sounds like an awesome lady.
My own mom is 82 and as smart as ever. She never stops. I hope I get as many years with my mom as you have had with yours.
