| 13. ...I happened to read the book for which I was named after....... |
|
...a few years ago....MAN she was one *liberated* Lady!! The title of the novel is 'Forever Amber' and the tale takes place in the time period in late 1600's Europe...I *TRIPPED* on it...my Mom read it while pregnant with me and decided she loved this *harlott* heroine's name so much she named me Amberley...which I discovered after thinking my entire life that Momma had added the ~ley~ to Amber becase she just didn't like the way Amber sounded with my last name:eyes: so 'she' invented Amberley...like Kimberley ya know..well I Googled Amberley and found out there's a Castle Amberley in ENGLAND...and a lineage of racehorses of the same name...also an Aussie Air Force base too...
....soooo anywaaaaay...the Amber in that book in the late seventeenth century was doin' EVERYTHING she had to do to get where she wanted to go...with a sad unknown irony that she was already borne into the royalty she so desperately sought...ahhhh an incredible love story...takes you through all the emotions....Mercy and my Mom was only 21yrs old in '67 *summer o'LOVE* reading this book...naming me after it...whoa!

in your opinion, what's the most aesthetically pleasing place on the body (maybe best to distinguish male/female) for a tattoo? And color, or black & skin?
I've got to go with the neck/shoulder area for a guy, and probably the small of the back for women. And DEFINITELY black on skin.

For gals and guys. The color depends upon the design. I like black for the Celtic and other abstract designs, but some deserve a color or two.

I always kind of thought the lower back placement looked a little... froo froo on a guy.
You're right on color and style, though. I tend to strongly favor traditional skin art, which explains my black & skin preference. Nevertheless, my next one's gonna be a 6" x 6" full color masterpiece, but smack in the middle of my back - just below the spot between the shoulderblades. It's gonna be at least a 12 session beast.

My brother is getting his ENTIRE back done, and I mean the whole damn thing, with the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and yes we do worry about his mental status

I really, really don't need another tattoo - 2 is plenty for me (and can't afford it right not, anyway), but I've got this incredibly cool design, you see, and there's really no place else it can go but square in the middle of my back... no one else's. If I was as talented or as self-confident as Michaelangelo, I'd say the design's already there, I've just gotta have it inked in.

I only like to inflict it, not to experience it. But if I were to get a tattoo, it would go over on my right public bone. Ouchie.

especially right over the bone (big round bony thing on the outside of yer ankle? BAD PLACE to have to get square inches of solid black!). However, in tattoos as in all else, the pain is a necessary part of the experience.
