Both Border Collies. One of them is actually from spectacular herding lines. They couldn't handle his energy. The other one had an idiot owner who bought her off a cattle ranch in AZ (her parents were cowdogs there), a month before he moved cross country. Surprise, he didn't have time for a new puppy during the move.

20. Thanks for supporting breed rescue

It's one of my causes. I wish more people who really want a certain breed were aware of the wonderful work done by breed rescue organizations. The dogs come pre-screened, and the organizations work really hard to place the dogs in the right "forever" home.

I love mixed breeds too, and the humane society does wonderful work. But for people wanting a certain breed, well -- if more people knew about breed rescue, we'd have less idiots buying puppies at pet shops.

Dogs are suck up sycophants, though beautiful and lovable ones. Most leaders need the sucking up, but Clinton had enough confidence on his own. He preferred a true companion, a beastie that would come and go on its own terms. Dogs love you no matter what, but cats only love you if you deserve it, and Clinton was confident enough to deal with that.

I love dogs, too, btw. That's my analysis as a bi-beastial person... Um, maybe that's not the right term... :hide:
