| I hate bureaucratic nonsense. |

For the last week I have been trying to get my employer to recycle a piece of electronic equipment. It is a specialized piece of equipment, not a computer or TV that someone else might be able to use. It is broken and almost as much to fix as to buy a new one. The manufacturer has a program where they take back these instruments and recycles just about all of it. They don't send it to China; they do it themselves. But they keep telling me that I can't send it to them because we will get nothing out of it. They prefer to try and sell it (no one would buy it probably) or throw it away. Like computers, it has lead and other metals in it. Not good for the landfill. The irony of it is that we are an "environmental" agency always going on about the health of ecosystems, etc. I'm just trying to make a small bit of difference here. :banghead:
