garden question

ok so I started growing some plants from seesd about 2 weeks ago. My peas and green bean seeds are now about a foot tall, and I am contemplating moving them ouside.

When do you think is a good time to do so? I was definitely not expecting them to grow so fast, and I worry because there's other plants in the cells where they're growing, and it could adversly affect my cantaloupe and watermelon plants.

I live in NJ if that matters.

They say not to really plant delicates till after May 1st because we can (and looks like will this week) get frosts up until then....

3. I always direct sow peas and beans.

I usually wait to put the beans in until about two weeks before I think it is "last frost". I put peas in two weeks ago and they are sprouting and I just put a second set in on Saturday.

I live in PA (south central).

The radishes, onions, lettuce, spinach and bok choi have all sprouted as well.

4. I found another solution

since there's still danger of frost outside.

I'm moving them from the starter cells into cut up water bottles (I got empty water bottles from the gym) and yogurt containers. That way they're separate yet still indoors.

5. Mine are about that tall, too

And I'm not putting them out for another few weeks. They're tall enough that they're staked with bamboo skewers (at least the sugar snap peas are).
