The basic starter package, w/ the system, one controller, one nunchuck, and the Sports game -- haven't seen it new for less than $240.00.

Am I looking in the wrong places?

1. You are actually lucky to find them. They can be scarce.

I doubt you will find them for less than that.

That is what I paid for mine 2 years ago. The cost hasn't gone down.

They're not in stores because Ebay assholes buy them all up to resell. When I was shopping for a Wii back in January they weren't available in stores or online and they were going on Ebay for $350-400 on average. I figured it was just an after Christmas low inventory situation and decided to wait it out a bit. I got mine online from Gamestop in mid February for $250 plus shipping. You might even get one cheaper on Ebay if you luck out because now that they're available again, people aren't going to bid more than the retail price on them.
