Dual boot since last Friday.

Most of the time this computer runs Ubuntu.

What version Ubuntu are you using? It's such a shame they went to numbers rather than their funky names (Hardy Heron, Gutsy Gibbon, etc) ... Release Candidate is now available for the new 9.04 version, though I'm staying away right now.

Have fun with it and welcome to a world free of the need of antivirus and things like conficker worms. (Though the updates do get nagging eventually but you get used to it).

only I don't have a dual-boot system (could only afford a replacement hard drive OR Windows, not both)

luckily, once I installed the Wine (windows emulation) program, I've been able to install and run most Windows programs I wanted
