| If you lived near where bears also live, would you have to be warned not to feed cubs? |
|

Apparently the people near here need to be reminded not to do so. Just because the cubs are "cute as all get-out" DON'T FEED THE BEARS, YOU MORONS! http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2009076248_webbears17m.html

As much as I love critters, I don't want Mamma Bear and Papa Bear knocking on my door because I spoiled Junior's appetite for dinner. No way. No how. I don't want that happening. I'll pass. :scared:

I have been pretty close to bears being fed, deliberately for the purpose of watching them and feeding them.
Would I do it in the wild, hell no.

| 5. That is a concern, but the main concern is that the cubs associate humans with food. |
|
If that happens, the bears will have to be trapped and won't be allowed to remain in the wild.
Right now, everyone just coexists. Ursines and humans just need to live and let live.

| 4. I lived in a Colorado resort community where bears rummaged through people's trash. |
|
Everyone who lived there knew to NEVER feed the bears, and we also knew secure our household trash and not to confront bears. But you know how well some humans follow even the most sage advice; every once in a while you'd hear about some idiot attempting to assert his or her dominance by confronting a bear and completely forgetting that the bears were there before the ski runs. :eyes:

| 8. We have black bears here in PA. There are tourists who think |
|
the woods are like a park, and the bears some sort of exhibit. I remember a tourist in the rockies who posed for a pic with a bear who promptly bit off a part of him and ate it.....
Spring is here, as are the idiots.

| 9. Here in NH we have people who feed them in their back yards |
|
The rest of the neighborhood then has to deal with bears wandering around looking for food. Bears have also broken into peoples houses when they are home to get food. Also, tourists feed bears and moose....it's really dumb.
