| 2. I used to have a cat that played that with starlings |
|
When I was a kid, the next-door neighbor lady had an old wooden shed that was right on our property line with a little cliff to one side of it. There was a big hole in the fascia, and a family of starlings had taken up residence therein.
We also had a large orange tomcat named Morris, who would get on the roof of that shed and lean over the edge. When one of the starlings attempted to get out, Morris would reach down with his orange paw and smack it back in just as hard as he could. About an hour later, he would get bored with this game and go off to catch their buddies. Morris could easily catch 10 starlings per day, which was fine with all concerned--they're an invasive species that needs to be thinned.
