If he gave us Swine Flu I will kill him. If it doesn't first.
(He did try to clean up his puke, it got all over the carpet. Yuck.)

A few years back I had a coworker with a raging case of pink eye in both eyes, complete with crusing and oozing. She was constantly dabbing at her peepers with tissues and leaving them on her desk.
I had a ten-month-old baby at the time, and I wasn't eager to introduce him to the joys of pink eye, so I actually wound up asking HR what steps could be taken.
"If you feel there's a risk, you could call off," they told me. Otherwise, there isn't much that they can do; the assumption was that the individual would have enough sense to stay home while aggressively infectious.
Do you have any reason to think that your coworker might actually have this swine flu? I mean, lots of other maladies cause coughing, sneezing, and vomiting.
Best of luck!

| 4. A coworker of mine had pink-eye once... it was only in one eye so to spare us all |
|
he came to work wearing an eyepatch.
We spent all day trying to get him to say "ARRRRR!"

| 5. M, many years ago. I was a draftsman/designer working in a |
|
cubicle with 3 others. One lady came in with the most horrible head cold that became a chest cold with coughing, sneezing, hacking, etc. She vowed she would not miss a minute of work time because of it.
All the rest of us soon got her sickness, and were out of work - I missed 3 days. When I got back - after I got hell from the boss for being out sick - the first thing she said to me was,"Well, I didn't miss a day!"
Fortunately for her, killing is still illegal where I live.
