he is from pennsylvania. He is making a big mistake.... This will be the last term for the turncoat.......Pennsylvania is a red state. Regardless of the last election which had very low republican turnout, Pennsylvania will always be a red state.

I stand corrected....that does not excuse Specter for this transgression. I hope he remembers that the (R) next to his name got him most of his votes.....

like it really matters any more,,,,there are bad republicans jsut like there are bad democrats...you all may disagree with me about which party has more bad apples, but I think we can all agree that regardless of the (D) or (R) by their name, we need to judge the candidates on their individual merits and on the issues that we each individually feel... Read More most strongly about. There are extremists on both sides that we ALL have to worry about.. I also think that to consider politics on a linear left to right scale is not forward thinking,,,,,it is way more complicated than that...spector's move may be beneficial to the democratic party in the short run, but Obama ran for president on a centrist platform that touted "reaching across the aisle". Pelosi and Reid seem to have hijacked the Democratic party and there is growing sentiment against that kind of extremism.....2010 may see some more leveling.

1. Specter is my senator. I just emailed him this afternoon welcoming him

to the "only party sincerely working for the American people."

The Right said for years he was really a Democrat - they are finally right about something.

I have little doubt he will be a PITA at times, but I treasure the potential his vote gives us and I love the stick in the eye he gave the GOP today. Fuck them. Twice.
