I haven't had a smoke in almost 19 years.
One problem, I couldn't wear one on my shoulder, it made my arm ache. Just don't put the patch on the same spot, change positions.

They were what finally helped me quit.
One word of advice: don't, don't, don't buy the generic brands of nicotine patches. They don't stick long enough and don't seem to provide the same stream of nicotine.
